BMW Sauber C29 in Valencia Fresh start! Hinwil/Valencia, 31st January 2010. Today, Sunday, on the eve of the start of the official Formula One test drives, the BMW Sauber F1 Team rolls out its Ferrari-engined C29 at the Ricardo Tormo race track in Cheste near Valencia, Spain. The BMW Sauber F1 Team will line up lean and hungry for the start of the 2010 FIA Formula One World Championship. Sixth place in last years constructors standings will serve as a starting point for the new season. The teams aim is to establish itself at this level despite a lower budget and reduction in manpower. This demands creative thinking and an increased level of efficiency. Drivers Kamui Kobayashi (23) and Pedro de la Rosa (38) will bring to the team a blend of youth and experience. Japans Kobayashi made his case with strong performances in two Grands Prix in 2009 and has already recorded his first World Championship points. De la Rosa has 71 Grands Prix under his belt and has earned his place in the statistics for podium finishes and setting fastest race laps. Plus, he also brings with him valuable experience from seven years as a test and reserve driver with a leading team. The last few months have been very intense for us, says team boss and owner Peter Sauber. First we had to battle to secure the survival of the team and then we focused on putting a strong set-up in place for the future. @SabuPtolemy

BMW blame everybody for their faults. They blamed Willaims for not producing a good enough car to be champion with in 2003 and the blamed Peter Sauber for his team too.

  3. jobjob76 Says:

@OMGz1122 they have to wait for permission from FIA to change the name of the team

    vamos PEDRO vamos KOBA !!!

  5. SabuPtolemy Says:

Because Sauber is due millions of dollars in FON money if they keep BMW in the name for now. This is simply a business move and has nothing to do with any misplaced love for BMW.

Redjr191, have you seen the other cars for the season? Compared to 2008, all cars look awful. This is however one of the better looking for the 2010 season.

I hope that damn Eccelstone recovers his lost brain so he can stop fucking things up in F1.

  13. Athaeus Says:

I actually agree – it looks like a bullet.
With the exception of the McLaren, the other cars look like cardboard boxes. Due to the rule-changes, this is going to be the worst season for aesthetics ever! Hope the performance makes up for the loss in eye-candy.

y dose werid wheels? i no 2010 has no wheels cover..bt stil…are dose legal?

  15. SabuPtolemy Says:

Best of luck to Peter Sauber and his team!

They went thru hell and back because of BMW’s absolutely inexcusable asshole behavior once they decided to bail on F1.

Kamui is a great young talent and Pedro’s experience will hopefully help the team to be fast right off the bat.

  17. Fabzx89 Says:

    I like it

  18. SupaSix1 Says:

Agreed about kobayashi..but it was actually nick heidfield who was the most consistant points scorer. Actually Nick has been the most consistant point scoring GP driver throughout the grid for many years..this was officially announced.

  19. SupaSix1 Says:

The car looks ok until u get 2 the rear half. It looks like a stretched limo, & those wheels/alloys look crap. but even more dissapointing is Peter Sauber chose Pedro as a driver!! Wheres the sense in that? Pedro is not a GP racer hes a tester. Hes always crap in GPs: he causes 2 many accidents. Kobayashi is a good gamble, peter shouldve kept experienced nick. but now sauber have 2 very inexperienced drivers. Pedros gonna be a headache you’ll see. he even caused a crash in the valencia test!!

  20. redjr1991 Says:

the car looks terrible. Someone tell me why there are no sponceres on the car? I feel bad for Kobayashi. I was hoping he would get a sweet looking car and performing car.

  21. FormulaUnos Says:

  23. keichii9 Says:

  24. atheist0627 Says:

Why is this team still called BMW Sauber? BMW left F1. It is Sauber, with an Ferrari engine..
