2009 International Car of the Year. The Nissan GT-R has been rated the coolest trend car of today by the very famous german car magazine “Auto Bild”. Nissan claims the GT-R can reach a top speed of 192 mph (309 km/h), Motor Trend recorded a top speed of 195.0 mph (313.8 km/h). It has been tested to achieve 0-60 mph (97 km/h) times as low as 3.2 seconds with launch control and 3.9 seconds without (improved to 3.5 seconds in models produced since March 2009). Autocar achieved a 0-100 mph (160 km/h) time of 8.5 seconds. With a manufacturer claimed lap time of 7:26:7 min on standard Japanese market tires, the GT-R is currently one of the fastest production cars to lap the Nürburgring circuit. The GT-R currently holds a lap time of 1:19.7 around the Top Gear Test Track, equalling that of the Ferrari 430 Scuderia. Road & Track were able to achieve quick lap times with the car on Buttonwillow Raceway, clocking in approximately 5 seconds faster than the Chevrolet Corvette Z06 and Porsche 911 Turbo. On Willow Springs International Motorsports Park, Edmunds were able to achieve lap times that were approximately 1 second slower than a Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 with the GT-R. Several automotive journalists, including Chris Harris of Autocar, Jethro Bovingdon of Evo, and Jason Barlow of Top Gear (magazine) have compared the GT-R to the Bugatti Veyron. Today, Sunday, on the eve of the start of the official Formula One test drives, the BMW Sauber F1 Team rolls out its Ferrari-engined C29 at the Ricardo Tormo race track in Cheste near Valencia, Spain. The BMW Sauber F1 Team will line up lean and hungry for the start of the 2010 FIA Formula One World Championship. Sixth place in last years constructors standings will serve as a starting point for the new season. The teams aim is to establish itself at this level despite a lower budget and reduction in manpower. This demands creative thinking and an increased level of efficiency. Drivers Kamui Kobayashi (23) and Pedro de la Rosa (38) will bring to the team a blend of youth and experience. Japans Kobayashi made his case with strong performances in two Grands Prix in 2009 and has already recorded his first World Championship points. De la Rosa has 71 Grands Prix under his belt and has earned his place in the statistics for podium finishes and setting fastest race laps. Plus, he also brings with him valuable experience from seven years as a test and reserve driver with a leading team. The last few months have been very intense for us, says team boss and owner Peter Sauber. Just missing the mid-morning rain, the RB6 was unveiled to the public in Spain today. Mark and Sebastian drew back the cover to reveal the Adrian Newey-design car which will challenge for points, podiums and trophies in 2010. Following a brief photo session where the drivers were joined by our chief technical officer and team principal Christian Horner there was a round of television and press interviews before Mark begain testing the new car. Finish of the first stage (London – Amsterdam) of the famous Gumball 3000 Rally, edition 2010. On May 1st, the cars arrived at the “Waterlooplein” in Amsterdam. Among the arriving cars in this video (part 1 of 2) are the Aston Martin DBS, Audi A5, Audi R8, Bentley Continental Flying Spur, Bentley Continental GT, BMW M5, BMW Z8, Corvette, Dino, Dodge RAM, Ferrari 458 Italia, Ferrari 612 Scaglietti, Ferrari F430, Ford Mustang, Lamborghini Gallardo, Lamborghini Murciélago, Maserati GranTurismo, Mercedes-Benz CLS, Mercedes-Benz ML, Mercedes-Benz S-Class, Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren, Mini Cooper, Porsche Carrera, Porsche Cayenne and the Rolls Royce Phantom Drophead Coupé. The Dino nearly crashed into the crush-barriers. Among the participating stars are Xzibit (in the white Cayenne), Tony Hawk, Sheikh Mohammad Al Thani (in the Drophead Coupé), Eve and Idris Elba.
